You can use the Extended Display mode to display data screens from your fēnix ® watch on a compatible Edge ® bike computer during a ride or triathlon. External Heart Rate. You can use an external sensor, such as the HRM-Pro™ or HRM-Dual™ heart rate monitor, to view heart rate data during your activities.
Put on the HRM-Pro. Disconnect your watch from the computer. Navigate to your sensor (Menu->Sensors & Accessories->HR - HRM-Pro:xxxxxx). If the status isn't already shown as 'Connected', select 'Connect'. Scroll down and select 'Software Update 7.40'. Approve the update on the watch and wait for the update to finish. The connect app will only work with garmin devices. You can use a polar HRM strap with a garmin watch and the gramin watch will send that data to connect but you need a garmin watch as intermediary. You can just connect a polar HR strap to connect to log workouts. Ok, so you need a separate Garmin device then. Wet the electrodes on the back of the heart rate monitor to create a strong connection between your chest and the transmitter. Wear the heart rate monitor with the Garmin® logo facing right-side up. The loop and hook connection should be on your right side. Wrap the heart rate monitor around your chest, and connect the strap hook to the loop. Running power zones can be configured to be based on LTHR (I think it's actually the default), so if LTHR updates as above, your running zones will automatically follow. With the Stryd, I pretty much had to do all out 5k or 10k TT's to get an updated CP, so Garmin's system is a bit smoother, but it may take a bit longer to get to the true LTHR ldVluTy.
